The Bethune-Thompson House

of Williamstown, eastern Ontario

Near the Nor'westers and Loyalist Museum on John Street in Williamstown is the Bethune-Thompson House, named after its two more celebrated owners in the last century.

Reverend John Bethune, the first Presbyterian minister in Upper Canada, lived here from 1804 to 1815

From 1815 to 1836 the house was occupied by David Thompson, the renowned cartographer, astronomer and surveyor.
